BMW 507

I don’t really like the BMW 507, the company’s second postwar attempt to crack into the super luxury market. That’s fine.

The car was part of an effort by BMW to make a name for itself beyond just making little Isetta bubble cars. It wasn’t very successful, but these roadsters were popular with a lot of celebrities (Elvis had one, for example).

A lot of critics think they’re gorgeous, but I’ve always found them a little frail looking, and too high off the ground. In the late spring light in the Greenwich Councours d’Elegance, it looked just fine.
