A Cigarette Inspects An Alfa Romeo 8C Grand Prix Car

at the Lime Rock HistoricsA man died at the Lime Rock Historics this year, overturned in a ’30s single seater MG special. I wonder why he entered, racing in a car history has proven to be so dangerous.

It was not the man pictured here. But I wonder if that thought of risk crossed his mind, smoking as he inspected the straight eight on this prewar Alfa GP car he would soon race.
